Exploring the cellular accumulation of metal complexes.

Transition metal complexes offer great potential as diagnostic and therapeutic agents, and a growing number of biological applications have been explored. To be effective, these complexes must reach their intended target inside the cell. Here we review the cellular accumulation of metal complexes, including their uptake, localization, and efflux. Metal complexes are taken up inside cells throug...

BIVPLENT METAL COMPLEXES OF SODIUM ASCORBATE

The mode of coordination of8 manganese(fI), cobaltm, nickel(H), copper(II), zinc(H), lead(II) and cadmium(I1) to sodium ascorbate (NaHAsc) was investigated using IR, UV-visible, AAS, elemental microanalyzer, conductivity, magnetic and 'M and I3C NMR spectroscopic studies, NaNAsc is bidentate and coordination was through the carbonyl group and the oxygen atom of carbon-2 enolic hydfoxyl grou...

Exploring anagostic interactions in 5,15-porphodimethene metal complexes.

Using a metal templating strategy, 5,15-porphodimethene metal complexes were synthesized and their structure confirmed by single crystal X-ray analysis. The anagostic interaction causes distortion, while the hydrogen bonding interactions generate dimerisation and array formation in these complexes.

Exploring and Exploiting Quantum-Dot Cellular Automata

The Full Adders (FAs) constitute the essential elements of digital systems, in a sense that they affect the circuit parameters of such systems. With respect to the MOSFET restrictions, its replacement by new devices and technologies is inevitable. QCA is one of the accomplishments in nanotechnology nominated as the candidate for MOSFET replacement. In this article 4 new layouts are presente...

Heavy metal accumulation in Halimione portulacoides: intra- and extra-cellular metal binding sites.

Salt marsh plants can sequestrate and inherently tolerate high metal concentrations found in salt marsh sediments. This work intended to understand the Halimione portulacoides (L.) Aellen strategies to prevent metal toxicity, by investigating the metal location in different plant organs and in the cell. A sequential extraction was performed on leaves, stems and roots of H. portulacoides in orde...
